Project Search – Supported internships programme
Project Search is a one year supported internship programme for young people between the ages of 16-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The Brent programme is co-ordinated by the College of North West London (CNWL), in partnership with the council, Charing Cross Hospital Imperial College NHS Trust, West London Alliance, Kaleidoscope Sabre, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and Action on Disability. The supported Internships are a full-time work based education programme, delivered over one academic year for young people with an Education, Health and Care plan who are keen to progress into paid employment.
The two internship programmes are based at Charing Cross Hospital and Brent Civic Centre.
Interns complete three work rotations throughout the year, supported by their college tutor and the job coaches. These placements help the interns develop a range of skills and qualities desired by employers, prior to being supported to search for full-time, paid employment at the end of the year.
