This course will help you to develop your existing skills and knowledge and introduce you to more advanced techniques. At each stage, your learning will progress and you will develop the skills employers in the industry are looking for, such as technical and practical skills, problem solving, team working and communication skills.

You will construct the following:

  • Fireplaces
  • Blockwork with piers
  • Cavity walling
  • Segmental arches
  • Raking cuts

How is the course taught?

Practical sessions will be carried out in our workshops where you will cover advanced hand and power tool skills, how to handle equipment and build brick and cavity walls. Your practical sessions will be supported by theory lessons in the classroom to ensure you develop your underpinning knowledge to achieve your qualification.
