Students learn how to build careers at top UK firm

Construction Students from United Colleges Group (UCG) were given a perfect platform to help build their future — after visiting the London HQ of leading UK developers Kier Group Plc.

Directors and senior managers from Kier welcomed 18 lucky UCG learners to spend the day at the company’s London offices, where top bosses gave students invaluable advice on the various careers within the construction industry… as well as talking about ways to enhance personal growth.

Kier Group are continually looking to bring new talent into the industry — and students had the chance to impress on the day by delivering a short presentation about themselves to the professionals from Kier.

Stuart Prior, Work Experience Coordinator at City of Westminster College, said: “This was an exceptionally valuable session for UCG construction students.

“Eighteen learners made the trip to Kier’s London office where Kier had ordered in enough food for a small army!

“A dozen senior managers and directors spent the afternoon talking about the industry, career paths and progression before the students delivered short presentations on their own thoughts and aspirations.

“It was a very enjoyable and interactive session.”
