Level 3 Award for Solar PV Installer and Operator

The Level 3 Award for Solar PV Installer and Operator is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to work competently in the growing domestic and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) sector. Delivered in partnership with Pike Education, the course includes bespoke online teaching materials to support flexible, high-quality learning.

Course Content

• Fundamental principles of solar PV technology
• How to carry out site surveys and pre-installation assessments
• Practical installation of small-scale solar PV systems
• Pre-commissioning tests, system commissioning, and official handover procedures
• Repair and maintenance procedures for operational solar PV systems
• Documentation, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance

Entry Requirements

• A full Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation
• Evidence of recent CPD and relevant work experience
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable (can be undertaken alongside this course)

Course Duration

Learning will take place over 3 days.
