With electric vehicles (EVs) playing a crucial role in improving air quality and helping the UK meet its climate change goals, the government is actively promoting the switch to electric transportation. This qualification is designed to equip practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers with the necessary skills and knowledge to install dedicated charging equipment for electric vehicles (EVs), including pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and extended-range electric vehicles (E-REVs).
The course covers both AC and DC charging equipment intended for plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and ensures compliance with the relevant standards, including BS EN 61851 and The Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installations. The qualification has been updated to reflect the changes made by BS7671:2018+A2:2022.
