You must complete a number of units, gaining practical skills & theoretical knowledge specific to the trade:
*Unit 201: Health, Safety & Welfare in Construction
*Unit 202: Principles of Building Construction, Information & communication
*Unit 207: Carry Out First Fix Flooring & Roofing
*Unit 208: Carry Out First Fix frames, Partitions & Stairs
*Unit 210: Carry Out Maintenance
*Unit 211: Set Up and Operate a Circular saw
How is the course taught?
You will be taught practical sessions in fully equipped workshops. Theory session will be delivered in the classroom using a range of teaching tools and techniques.
What support is available?
Our qualified tutors will support and guide you in the classrooms/workshops and through tutorials as they help you to develop the skills and techniques required in industry. What else should I know?
Annually we take part in a range of national and regional competitions in a wide range of subject areas for those keen to show off the skills they have gained on their courses. Taking part gives you the opportunity to display your skills, build confidence and meet employers from industry looking for new recruits. Every year our students bring back a range of trophies and medals. Please check with your tutor as courses must be at a certain level to enter.
